Position Overview

The Communications Writer is responsible for writing content in both print and digital mediums.  The successful candidate will be an accomplished writer adaptable to a variety of writing assignments, have experience in researching, developing, writing and editing internal and external communications.  Examples of content incudes: blogs, landing pages, web pages, email communications, press releases, internal announcements, and social media posts.  

Candidate should be up-to-date with the latest best practices in SEO keywords and formatting as standard AP writing style.  The ability to develop a communications content strategy that tells a narrative on multiple channels is required.  In this role, you will be responsible for writing, editing and proofing while managing content-related tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

The Communications Writer is primarily responsible for:

  • Development, writing, integration, inter- and intra-departmental coordination.
  • Coordinate and integrate content developed for the web, print, marketing initiatives and public relations.
  • Write social-media style content and engage readers on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and any other social-media platforms, as needed, based on stories, blogs, videos.
  • Write web copy, as needed, for feature articles, as well as corporate messaging.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Department for content calendar and strategic communications plans.
  • Fulfill additional writing assignments as needed for sales, projects, events, email communications, announcements, and press releases.
  • Ensuring that best practices are followed in marketing, SEO, and website design.
  • Editing and proofing work submitted for posting.
  • Maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting communication sharing performance ROI, goals, learning, and actionable recommendations with marketing, sales, and executive teams.
  • Drive external awareness through frequent, consistent, compelling communications, including product launches, events, and campaigns.

We are seeking candidates with the following experience and skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science required.
  • Degree in advertising, communications, journalism, or English

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years in copy writing, blog management, communications, or marketing
  • Excellent writing, verbal, proof reading, and editing skills.
  • A portfolio of blogs that showcases your talent.
  • Must have exceptional project management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities from multiple stakeholders.
  • Know-how in developing SEO-focused content
  • Knowledge and execution of the structure and content of the English language.
  • Experience working for US or UK-based organizations.
  • Competent computer skills to perform essential functions using Microsoft Office products.
  • Effectively communicate information and ideas
  • Experience developing copy for internal and external communications.
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts for projects.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills.
  • A team player with exceptional organizational, time management, and technical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all communications deliverables.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally.
  • Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Preference is given for understanding of IT technology and having a technology writing background.
