Position Overview

The Blog Content Manager is responsible for overseeing technical and content-related matters for Zones’ blogs.  In this role, you will be responsible for quality checking content, coordinating with internal subject matter experts and/or external creative agency for drafting the blog content.  The successful candidate will develop content plans, provide oversight for content-related tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

To ensure success you should have an eye for quality writing, be skilled at management and be able to analyze long-form writing.  The successful candidate will bring creativity and energy and be able to handle both the content and technical sides of running a successful blog website.  Experience in writing, marketing communications, SEO, brand marketing, and public relations is desired.

This position will also be tasked with proactive internal storytelling for recognition, training, performance, key programs, and initiatives critical to business growth.  The ability to create compelling content will be instrumental in this position’s success.

The Blog Content Manager is primarily responsible for:

  • Planning content strategy and content calendars for the blog.
  • Working with writers to come up with new topics and ideas to write about.
  • Finding new writers and guest writers to work on content for the website.
  • Ensuring that best practices are followed in marketing, SEO, and website design.
  • Editing and proofing work submitted for posting.
  • Presenting ideas and projects to stakeholders.
  • Training and upskilling new writers in the company's style and format.
  • Identifying new markets and avenues for the blog to focus on.
  • Performing quality assurance checks on various aspects of the site.
  • Maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting communication sharing performance ROI, goals, learning, and actionable recommendations with marketing, sales, and executive teams.
  • Drive external awareness through frequent, consistent, compelling communications, including product launches, events, and campaigns.

We are seeking candidates with the following experience and skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science required.
  • Degree in advertising, communications, journalism, or English

Required Experience:

  • 4+ years in blog management, communications, digital marketing, or copywriting
  • Excellent writing, proofing, and editing skills.
  • A portfolio of blogs that showcases your talent.
  • Must have exceptional project management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities from multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and execution of the structure and content of the English language.
  • Experience working for US or UK-based organizations.
  • Competent computer skills to perform essential functions using Microsoft Office products.
  • Effectively communicate information and ideas
  • Experience developing copy for external communications.
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts for projects.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills.
  • A team player with exceptional organizational, time management, and technical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all communications deliverables.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally.

  • Preference is given for understanding of IT technology and having a technology writing background.
